Wildflowers Cottonwood Rd Escalante Utah

White stem Evening Primrose

March 30 & 31 2014 we drove (4-wheel drive NOT needed) Cottonwood road from Cannonville to a camp spot above Big Water, Utah. We found many wildflowers blooming along the way. Indian Paintbrush and Evening Paintbrush were easy to identify.

First blooms

Globe Mallow and unidentified bloom.

Bouquets of Desert Phlox are scattered about the desert of Escalante Utah also.

Globe Mallow is having a heyday in the desert. The blue thistle-like flowers with the orange Globe Mallow have not been identified. Do you know this species?
